South Australian shoppers helped to make a difference for some very special patients at the Women’s & Children’s Hospital (WCH) this year.

The Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Hospital Appeal saw customers purchase an item from the great range of Women’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation merchandise to help support a great cause.

Funds raised through this year’s Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Hospital Appeal will be donated to the WCH Foundation – with all proceeds going towards the Rose Ward Family and Baby Upgrade at the WCH.

“Rose Ward is a 17 bed medical surgical ward that primarily looks after babies from birth to 12 months old,” said WCH Foundation Chief Executive Officer, Sam Tolley.

“Rose Ward currently provides facilities for parents to stay with their child while they’re in hospital. It’s a really important area for families who are often doing it very tough caring for a sick baby.

“The upgrade will make the ward a more welcoming, comfortable space – improvements will include an update to the parent lounge, repainting and modernising the ward and purchasing new recliner chairs to make breastfeeding easier.

“We’re urging South Australians to get behind this Appeal which really will help to make a difference for some of the Hospital’s most vulnerable patients.”

Supporting the Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Hospital Appeal is easy – simply purchase an item from the WCH Foundation merchandise range, available at all Woolworths supermarkets across the State.

The merchandise includes WCH Foundation branded toothbrushes, nail files and BeBe Bear shopping list note pads.

All proceeds from the Appeal will go towards the Rose Ward Family and Baby Upgrade.
