In their mission to raise funds to fight cancer, the SA Police are once again holding their ‘Ride Like Crazy’ charity bike ride in January next near. In October 2008 Senior Sergeant Mick "Crazy" Koerner of the South Australia Police was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and sadly passed away on Saturday November 14, 2009.
His work colleagues and friends established a cycling event called Ride Like Crazy. In January 2009, more than 600 riders took part in the fundraising event. Due to the overwhelming success of Ride Like Crazy, South Australia Police has adopted the ride as a community event.
Ride Like Crazy 2010 will continue the event's legacy of promoting the fight against cancer, with all profits supporting the Women's & Children's Hospital Foundation and the Neurosurgical Research Foundation. Event Details - Sunday January 17, 2010
- Full Distance 109.2 km or Half Distance 53.2 km
- Race starts at Victoria Square, Adelaide and travels up through the picturesque Adelaide Hills
- Supporters to help and encourage the riders along the route are also welcome!
