It’s safe to say the winter months have brought out tremendous generosity within the TeamKids community! From surprise trips to Disney on Ice, bundles of toys and gifts for patients, to significant donations - we take you through a snapshot of the latest community news, showcasing the amazing support of our ever-growing network.
Miss Carter’s D4 Dolphins Marryatville Primary class have been enjoying undertaking 100 acts of kindness as part of a school program. For their 100th act, the students wanted to do something for the community. On International Childrens Day, the adorable Cruz and his family visited our office and got to take home some of the toys and books Miss Carter’s class kindly donated ❤️ Cruz and his family have been residing in Adelaide at the Ronald McDonald House Adelaide from Broken Hill while he is undergoing treatment at the WCH. We are happy to announce that Cruz is on his way home after almost 365 days!
We hear the rest of the gifts are currently on their way to patients at the hospital – watch this space!...
We were delighted to receive $6,200 for the Home Equipment Centre in Paediatric OPD at the Women's and Children's Hospital from our great friends at SA Power Networks Employee Foundation! Funds were raised through their support for the TeamKids Easter Appeal ❤️
Disney on Ice, thanks to SA Power Networks Employee Foundation!
Further to the generous cheque presentation, our good friends Ben and Joe from SA Power Networks Employee Foundation took two of our families to see Disney on Ice in their corporate box! The Shortridge and Hansford families were treated to the surprise, thoroughly enjoying the night. The gesture was a very deserving outing for both families.
Maddie and "clippoty"!
Maddie, 2, and her new friend "Clippoty" - aka Cloppy! Maddie stopped by between WCH appointments to drop off some gifts for the patients in Michael Rice Ward, kindly donated by a group of teachers at St Martin de Porres Primary School. The drive was led by Erin – a close friend of mum, Monique. Erin started the initiative after learning how well Maddie had been responding to Art Therapy; giving her such a fun distraction during her ongoing treatment. Thank you!

Australian Submarine Corporation staff
After being nominated by an ASC employee who had enormous praise for the services and support his family received at the Women's and Children's Hospital, TeamKids was invited to greet Australian Submarine Corporation staff as they clocked on for work in the wee hours of the foggy morning. This resulted in $1542.45 in support!
